![]() ![]() If for some reason you want to hurl money at me for my labors: ĭon't use the Fandom one. Read the mod description information above for more details about how they operate now. So, if you find something missing you can feel free to add it in.Ī: Yes it is. Otherwise you can progress exactly as normal through the base game.Ī: The wiki is player maintained. The only true progression change is with EPP packs (see above sections for info on that). Q: Does FU affect the main storyline or game progression?Ī: No. Q: Does FU add quests/missions or bosses? The wiki link given on this page right after the FAQ is a good source of information. Exploration, experimentation.just seeing what sort of things lead to others and eventually ending up with a hard-core science lab. ![]() You just need to figure out what that source is. By the time you come back you'll have your starting planet visible and a quest to begin!Ī: Everything has a source. I recommend visiting the Science Outpost when this happens, which can be triggered from your shiplocker items. Because FU adds so many biomes it increases the time it takes to find the setup. It's in warp for like.ever.Ī: Starbound is generating a universe and looking for a starting system that fits exact specifications. ![]() Q: I seem to be taking forever to generate my starting planets. I recommend a clean universe, personally, but that's only if you absolutely want to have FU planets right near your starting location. So yes, it will work with your existing character. However, you will need to travel a fair ways away on your starmap in order to generate the new biome types. (or any possible variation of this question) Q: Do I need to delete my characters and universe before I start? Will it work with the character I already have? Do you see "Powered by Frackin Universe"? If so, you're good to go! When you launch starbound, look at the main menu screen. ![]() Ignore them at your peril.Ī: Quite simple. You've been warned.īelow in the spoiler are some important notes on installation, compatibility, etc. Start a NEW character for it so you don't ruin your favorite avatar. Note that this mod may impact existing characters. If using *modded* races, you will want the FU BYOS addon here įor install/uninstall and game version information click the spoiler. Want to support the project with donations? Click here: įor detailed instructions on using and keeping up to date with the GitHub version read Xylia's guide here: Want to help but can't code? Try adding to the Other Note: You no longer need FrackinRaces if you use FrackinUniverse. Note: If you do not have 1.4 of starbound installed, you cannot use FU. Open it, copy the contents to and attach that link to me in the forums or a PM. It can be found in starbound/storage/starbound.log. Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\giraffe_storage\mods Copy and paste it into the mods directory and starbound mod directory, like said. Now,to the final part. How to actually install the mods.ĭownload the mods normally.Open the place where they are downloaded.Click on the nexus icon that looks like a folder, and click "open NMM's mods folder".Drag your mods into the nexus mod folder, then restart nexus like above, and double-click the named mods with a red cross to activate them.Give it time to install it,and it will magically appear in your game. Please attach your starbound.log file, without it I cannot diagnose the problem. Since the nexus is usually set to put mods into the koala storage, you will have to set it manually to install mods into the giraffe storage. To do it you must copy and paste what i've writed down into mod directory and starbound mod directory, naturally deleting the what was written before, then close nexus mod manager and open it again(To "restart it") The nexus should already install mods into the koala_storage,so go down after the upbeat giraffe part to see how to install mods. The trick requires two things:Nexus Mod Manager, and starbound.Nexus mod manager is free and easy to install, just search for it on your browser. What the trick does is make nexus mod manager install ANY mod for you, automatically.(Yes,i install mods from the mod section with it.I'm lazy.)Still, one has to do some work before it works. Hello, for first,i'd want to ask if this is the right place to post that trick, and,if it isn't,for some moderator to move it please. Now,to the actual thing. ![]()
